‘If I don’t like my environment, why not change it?’

Children Change Colombia Project Talk 2017

Monday, 20th February 2017 at 6.30pm

The Project Talk this year will focus on how, with your support, children at two of our partner organisations are making their schools and communities safer, not just for themselves but for all young people.

This will be your chance to put your questions directly to representatives of two of our Colombian partner organisations Tiempo de Juego and AIMY who will be talking about their experience of supporting children and young people growing up in some of Colombia’s most difficult neighbourhoods.

In two specially commissioned films, young people at our partner organisations Corpolatin and Sí Mujer describe how they have refused to accept feeling unsafe. Instead are taking what they’ve learnt about their rights to make sure their schools and communities are protective places where they can flourish, free from the threat of violence or exploitation.

These are the young people who are creating peace in Colombia. Please come along and learn more from them about how they are doing it!

The evening is also an opportunity to get an update on our work, ask any questions and meet the team.  After the talk, we hope you will stay on to enjoy a glass of wine with the team.
