Assistant to Executive Director
María Gabriela Castañeda is currently pursuing an MSc in Public Policy at University College London (UCL). She holds a double major in Economics and Political Science from Universidad de Los Andes, where she also conducted research on youth politics and economic cooperation.
With nearly three years of professional experience as a Consultant for the Natural Resources and Rural Development (RND) Division at the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), María Gabriela has developed expertise in project implementation and operational management. Her work with the Colombian Sustainability Facility focused on developing evaluation and monitoring systems for its project portfolio, supporting initiatives to reduce deforestation in conflict-affected regions. María Gabriela has also worked with Mineros S.A., a mining company recognized for its sustainable practices and corporate social responsibility.
Driven by a passion for innovation and local development, María Gabriela is particularly focused on how these elements can foster inclusive and sustainable growth in Latin American communities, with an emphasis on enhancing opportunities for youth and empowering vulnerable populations.
