Fundraising and Programmes Intern vacancy

  • Place of Work: Work from home
  • Reports to: Fundraising Coordinator (FC)
  • Timeframe: Minimum three months preferable six months
  • Hours: Two days a week (from 10am to 5pm Monday – Friday).The days you work and the hours can be flexible.

Key responsibilities:

Fundraising:

  • Work closely with the Fundraising Officer on researching new funding opportunities from Trusts, Foundations, and institutional donors to match them to new and existing funding priorities.
  • Assist creating and managing a calendar of funding applications.
  • Help maintaining up to date and organised the directory of Trusts, Foundations, and Corporates.
  • Assist with drafting funding proposals for use with trusts, foundations, institutional and corporate donors.
  • Thank Trusts, Foundations, institutional and corporate donors.
  • Contribute to our fundraising strategy by helping us to keep our database up to date.
  • Proof-read and copywriting reports to Trust, Foundations and Corporates.

Programmes:

  • Assist reviewing partner´s mid-year and end of year reports.
  • Help preparing year impact reports using monitoring information from partner organisations.
  • Assist updating recent projects and new partnerships for our website. 
  • Assist the new partners and  projects selection process.
Person Specification:

This internship is ideally suited to someone with an interest in children’s rights and sustainable development, who is looking to complement their studies with practical experience of the charity sector, or someone working part-time looking to gain more experience in the not-for-profit sector. 

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Enthusiasm and a commitment to our work.
  • Desire to gain experience in a small charity.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and Word, and the ability to learn to use database (CRM).
  • Proactive and able to use your own initiative.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyse and process information for reports. 
  • Ability to work with a team and independently.
  • Fluent English – spoken and written. 

Desirable

  • Strong numeracy skills
  • Familiarity with the Colombian context and understanding of the recent history and current social issues in Colombia
  • Understanding of Spanish
  • Child Protection
