Read MoreFor this Children’s Mental Health Week we’d like to highlight the work we do to support children suffering from trauma.
As part of the CCC capacity building program we have been working with Action for Child Trauma International (ACTI) for 3 years providing our local partners with invaluable tools to help heal trauma in children affected by the armed conflict in Colombia.
These methodologies have been taken to other areas in the world that suffer from internal conflict or natural disasters such as Africa and the Middle East. Thanks to CCC this knowledge has been brought for the first time to the Americas, with Colombia as the first country. We also extended the workshops to civil servants of the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF in Spanish) last year spreading the knowledge even further.
Becky, our Communications Coordinator, interviewed Stella Charman, Executive Director of ACTI, and talked about the work we do together to who suffer from trauma. We hope you will enjoy the video.
