Communications and Fundraising Manager 

 

Place of Work:  Hybrid- London

Hours: Part time (21 hours per week; flexible working hours will be considered)

Type of contract:  1 year Fixed term contract

Salary: £48,365 pro-rata 3 days per week

As Communications and Fundraising Manager, you will be in charge of designing the communications and fundraising strategy of the charity for the next 5 years, and leading a team composed of a Communications Officer and two Interns, as well as the activities listed below. You will have the energy and passion to manage this wide-ranging role and be a crucial part of our small team. 

You will have to maintain our relationships with our supporter community, in the UK and beyond, and help to engage new supporters and corporate donors, both online and face-to-face. You will be responsible for designing and implementing direct marketing campaigns with our supporting communication agencies. You will also plan and manage two to three fundraising events per year. The role also involves some general administration associated with fundraising.

You will work with the Communications Officer to manage the website and social media, newsletter and appeals.

Responsibilities:

Communications

  • Designing the charity’s Communications and Fundraising Strategy for the next 5 years
  • Individuals Fundraising/Direct marketing: plan, implement and provide analysis of Facebook Fundraiser and regular giving campaigns with new and existing Individual donors 
  • Community Fundraising: maximise engagement of current and potential Community supporters including individuals, community events.
  • Manage the Communications Calendar and Marketing Strategy under the supervision of the Executive Director
  • Manage CCC’s social media platforms Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, YouTube and LinkedIn.
  • Maintain, and upload content to, CCC’s website. 
  • Produce written content for e-shots, website, blog and social media. 
  • Coordinate production and mailing of 2 newsletters (Spring-Autumn) and Christmas Appeal 
  • Act as the first contact point for all individual donor enquiries.
  • Manage donor details on the database. 
  • Ensure donations are thanked in accordance with CCC’s thank you policy.
  • Conduct quarterly website and social analysis.
  • Manage Google ads with the support of an external agency.

Events

  • Plan and implement 2-3 fundraising events a year, including CCC’s well-established Programmes Information Evening (‘Project Talk’) and sponsored walk (‘Thames Walk’).
  • Support 1-2 advocacy events a year.

Governance/Admin

  • Ensure the team follows our GDPR policy.
  • Support the recruitment and manage the Communications officer and the Communications intern and volunteers when necessary.
  • Other administrative, communications or fundraising tasks as required by the ED within the current level of responsibility of the post. 
  • Support the strengthening of our processes and tools.

Fundraising

  • Identifying and generating funding and business opportunities for the charity.
  • This will include working closely with operational teams to develop innovative opportunities, engaging with new donors, retention of contracts through re-tendering, and developing new products and services.

Skills and Experience:

Essential 

  • Bachelor’s degree on Social Communication or Journalism
  • Direct marketing/Individuals Fundraising experience 
  • 5 years’ experience in any fundraising/communications role or a role with transferable experience 
  • Experience organising events.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Experience using social media & scheduling platforms including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
  • Knowledge of Canva, Filmora or similar softwares to make posts, reels and edit videos
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (databases)
  • Intermediate level Spanish (written and spoken)

  • Enthusiasm and ability to work effectively in a team and independently. 
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and manage a varied workload in a pressured environment.
  • Knowledge of Colombia

Desirable 

  • Master´s degree on marketing, social communication or public relations
  • Community or Corporate Fundraising experience 
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management systems (databases)
  • Intermediate level Spanish (written and spoken)
  • Knowledge of Colombia

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer

Salary: £25.82 per hour for 72 hours of support during 1-year project

Children Change Colombia is the UK’s largest charity working exclusively in Colombia. We work with children whose rights to a safe, happy childhood, and a fulfilling future, are threatened by poverty, inequality and violence. We believe that, with a knowledge of their rights and the confidence to assert them, children can transform their own lives, their communities and Colombia itself.

The MEAL Officer is primarily responsible for establishing and overseeing a functional MEAL system for the project “Colombia Colores”. This is a new project that has arisen from a need expressed by the Colombian community in London for regular educational sessions about Colombian culture and heritage for their children. Over the course of one year, the project will offer a weekly fun and educational session for children to learn about Colombia’s language, culture, nature, and arts, reimagine their cultural identity and thrive. The Colombian Consulate in London has joined this project as a strategic ally to invite the community and promote the activities within their database of Colombians living in the UK. 

During this project, children and families will meet regularly with others who are living in the same migrant context, enabling them to strengthen relations, build a deeper sense of community, and connect with their cultural roots which in turn, will help them to thrive and integrate into a new culture.

This project aims to:

  • Reconnect to your roots: Colombian diaspora children learn about their cultural heritage, culture, nature, and language.
  • Understand where you come from to thrive: Colombian diaspora children reimagine their cultural identity to thrive in a different context.
  • Bond with your Community: Colombian diaspora children and families strengthen their relationships through weekly encounters with members facing similar migration challenges.

You are the right person for this position if you are highly organised, independent, and have previous experience on monitoring and evaluation of projects. You are outgoing, like new challenges and working in a team. You are also passionate about children’s rights and sustainable development.

Scope of the Role:

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 2-3 years of monitoring evaluation, accountability and learning experience preferably with INGOs
  • With expertise in databases, MS Office and other analysis software such as SPSS
  • Ability to work in challenging environment
  • Good Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Proficient in report writing and documentation
  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Create an review data bases and data tracking tools which meets minimum reporting requirements of donors 
  • Plan and implement of baseline surveys, monitoring and evaluation exercises and impact assessments when needed
  • Carry out regular field monitoring of project interventions and produce monitoring reports 
  • Conduct debrief sessions with relevant project staff 
  • Write case studies and articles for reporting and  communication purposes
  • Establish and manage Complaint and Feedback Mechanism which facilitate Beneficiaries/communities to register complaints and share feedback.
  • To assist the project in identifying key compliance/quality questions and parameters capitalizing on the existing checklists and minimum standards for monitoring project performance;

Teaching Assistant

Place of Work:  London

Hours: Part time 

Type of contract: Fixed term contract 

Salary: £10.42 per hour for 72 hours of support during 1-year project

We believe that, with a knowledge of their rights and the confidence to assert them, children can transform their own lives, their communities and Colombia itself.

As Teaching Assistant, you will have to attend 72 hours of Saturdays morning activities in Elephant as Castle, London, to support the pedagogical coordinator deliver the “Colombia Colores” project sessions to classes of 20 children. This is a new project that has arisen from a need expressed by the Colombian community in London for regular educational sessions about Colombian culture for their children. Over the course of one year, the project will offer a weekly fun and educational session for children to learn about Colombia’s language, culture, nature, and arts, reimagine their cultural identity and thrive.   • Ability to work with children ( 8 to 12 years old) and their families
  • Good Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and commitment
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Pedagogical Coordinator to deliver the workshops to the Children 
  • Distributing classwork materials
  • Taking attendance or monitoring participation
