Education for Peace and Opportunity in Antioquia
In the rural southwest of Antioquia, access to quality education remains a significant challenge – but with the support of Fundación Oro Molido, children and young people are now leading the way in transforming their communities.
Empowering Rural Youth Through Education, Music, and Research
Addressing exlclusion from education in rural areas

This project focuses on strengthening education through three key pillars: research, music, and formal education. It supports young people to become investigators of their own realities, developing research projects that respond to the challenges and questions of their local rural contexts. These initiatives are led by primary and secondary school pupils, including scholarship recipients who complete their social service placements while creating real impact in their communities.
Alongside academic learning, the project places a strong emphasis on music as a tool for peacebuilding and personal development. Children take part in music theory lessons and instrument training, and are given the opportunity to perform in ensembles that celebrate both traditional Colombian genres and classical music.
Looking ahead, Fundación Oro Molido is preparing to open Colegio Nueva Paideia in La Pintada – a pioneering school model that will welcome one student from each of the 23 municipalities in the region for the 2025 academic year.
