PazA la Mochila is a project that brings together many experiences, resources and methodologies that the Truth Commission and other civil society organisations have developed for decades to educate children and adolescents for the construction of peace in Colombia

Why ‘PazALaMochila’?

Several organizations have created various tools to disseminate the content of the Truth Commission report, however, limitations have been encountered in rural areas such as low connectivity and lack of access to computers and public libraries, which make many communities unable to access the content available online and offline.

That is why “Paz a la Mochila”, which translates to Pass the Backpack in English, is an effort to offer adaptable alternatives that adjust to the different realities of the contexts of the children across Colombia. This approach seeks to provide strategies that promote understanding and action around peace-building, recognising children not only as victims of the armed conflict, but also as active agents in the construction of peace.
