Why leave a legacy donation?
Each year, the money we receive from gifts in wills helps us guarantee that vulnerable and at risk children in Colombia receive the support they need.
These gifts are taken off the value of your estate before inheritance tax is calculated. Also, if you donate more than 10% of your estate to a charitable cause, your inheritance tax will be reduced. This means that less of your money goes to the tax man, and more is given to the people and causes you love.
What gifts can be left in a will?
There are three types of gifts that you can leave us in your will:
Cash gifts
This is also sometimes known as a pecuniary gift, and is when you leave us a specific amount of money.
A share of your estate
Once your loved ones and all other costs have been taken care of, you can select a share of your estate to leave to charity. This is called a residuary gift. These donations usually have the most impact, as the amount adjusts in line with inflation.
A specific gift
You can select a specific gift, such as land, shares or possessions, to leave to your chosen charity.
