Maira is originally from Villavicencio and decided to move to the other side of the country alone to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse. She lives alone in a vulnerable neighbourhood and was working in a fast-food restaurant to help her to support her living expenses.
The Corporación Bolivariana del Norte sent us a list of 15 candidates for the scholarship programme, and after reviewing their grades and interviewing some candidates, we believe that Maira is an excellent candidate. She is a determined young woman who needs support after moving away from her family to improve her life. In the past, she did her military service, and she has a vocation of helping others.
